Kidney failure is a severe health condition in which kidneys are no longer capable to perform their functions as they tend to. For the treatment of kidney failure, mainly two treatment options are left; one is Allopathic treatment that is performed worldwide but it is not a permanent treatment for kidney failure. Another kidney failure treatment option in Ayurveda that has been practised in India from ancient times. In this article, we’ll describe kidney transplant verses Ayurvedic treatment and which one is better for kidney failure?

Firstly, let us talk about kidney failure!

Kidney failure means that your kidneys have lost their ability to perform their natural tasks such as filtering waste products and excess fluid from your blood that may cause fluid buildup in your body. This fluid buildup in your body can cause many health complications like swelling in your legs, arms, and puffiness under your eyes.

Causes of kidney failure

There are many reasons that may cause kidney failure. Some of the major causes are as follows:

• Loss of blood flow to your kidneys

• Problem related to urine elimination

• Blood clot around your kidneys

• Severe infection

• Over-consumption of illegal drugs and alcohol

• Vasculitis

• Lupus

• Inflammation to glomeruli present inside your kidneys

• Multiple myeloma

• Blood clots in small blood vessels in your body

• Some Chemotherapy drugs

• Certain antibiotics that are given by doctors to treat chronic illness

• Diabetes

The above-mentioned factors are the major causes of kidney failure. So, if you want to get relieved from kidney failure, Ayurvedic kidney failure treatment can be the best solution.

Symptoms of kidney failure

There are several body signs that indicate the condition of kidney failure. Some of the major symptoms of kidney failure are as follow:

• Change in the amount of urine

• Swelling of your legs, ankles, and feet due to fluid retention

• Breathing problem

• Excessive laziness or fatigue

• Persistent nausea

• Problem in thinking

• Severe pain in the chest

If you notice any of the above-mentioned symptoms in your body then try to reach your doctor immediately. He may suggest you some blood or urine test that determine the condition of your kidneys.

Types of kidney failure

Mainly, there are five types of kidney failure and every type has its symptoms and causes. Types of kidney failure are as follow:

• Acute prerenal kidney failure – when there is insufficient blood flow to your kidneys, it can cause prerenal kidney failure. This type of kidney failure can be cured easily by your doctor after determining the cause of decreased blood flow to your kidneys.

• Acute intrinsic kidney failure – It can be the result of a physical impact on your kidneys or a severe accident that can affect your kidneys. Causes of Acute intrinsic kidney failure include toxic overload in your body.

• Chronic prerenal kidney failure – This is the condition of your kidneys when there is not enough blood flowing to your kidneys for an extended time. In this condition, your kidneys begin to shrink and lose the ability to function.

• Chronic intrinsic kidney failure – This situation occurs when severe damage affects your kidneys due to intrinsic kidney disease. Intrinsic kidney disease originates from any other severe injuries or health conditions like severe bleeding or a lack of oxygen.

• Chronic post-renal kidney failure – A long term blockage takes place in the urinary tract that creates a problem in urination. This can put pressure on your kidneys and hence may damage your kidneys.

Kidney transplant versus Ayurveda treatment

The above-mentioned stuff is a gist about kidney failure and now, we are going to talk about which treatment is better for kidney failure. Following are the treatments available for kidney failure:

Allopathic treatment

In Allopathic treatment, there is no permanent treatment for the condition of kidney failure. But with the help of Allopathic treatment, you can survive a little longer. Allopathic treatment involves dialysis and kidney transplant as a treatment of kidney failure. These treatments are expensive and many side-effects are associated with them.

Dialysis is performed to lower down the level of waste materials like creatinine from your blood. This procedure is performed with the help of equipment outside your body. The average life expectancy rate of a kidney patient after dialysis is 4-5 years that is not good for your health.

Kidney transplant is the final option left in allopathy for the treatment of kidney failure. In this procedure, a patient’s kidney is replaced by a foreign and healthy kidney. A donor can be living or deceased as well. In this process, most of the time, a patient’s body rejects the donated organ and it can lead to the death of the patient.
