An Insight to Chronic kidney disease & Its Ayurvedic Treatment

Chronic kidney disease is a severe health condition as there is no medicine available to eliminate this disease in modern medical science. For the past several years, the number of patients with this disease has increased exponentially. One in ten people has kidney disease. The increasing number of diseases like diabetes, hypertension, stones etc. are mainly responsible for this.

After a long time, both the kidneys of the patients shrink to a very small extent and stop working, which cannot be cured by any medication, operation or dialysis. Chronic kidney disease was previously called chronic renal failure, but the term failure gives an incorrect assumption. In the initial stage of chronic kidney disease, the kidney performs some function and in the final stage, the kidney stops functioning completely. The first stage of a chronic kidney disease patient can be done by giving appropriate chronic kidney disease treatment in Ayurveda and avoiding bad dietary practices.

There are five stages of chronic kidney disease and GFR-

● Stage 1 - Normal or High GFR (GFR - 90 mL / min)

● Stage 2 - Low CKD (GFR - 60-89 mL / min)

● Stage 3A - Medium CKD (GFR - 45-59 mL / min)

● Stage 3B - Medium CKD (GFR - 30-44 mL / min)

● Stage 4 - Severe CKD (GFR - 15–29 mL / min)

● Stage 5 - Final Stage CKD (GFR - 15 mL / min)

Due to chronic kidney disease -

● Excessive urination

● Excess consumption of alcohol and smoking

● Taking an overdose of sodium or salt

● High blood pressure rise and loss of attention

● Negligence in the treatment of diabetes

● Taking more drugs of pen killer

● Small amounts of water

● Excessive caffeine intake

Symptoms of chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney failure, unlike acute kidney failure, is a slow-growing disease. If one kidney stops functioning, the other kidney can function normally. Its symptoms do not appear until the disease reaches its high stage. In this stage, the damage caused by the disease cannot be cured. People who are more likely to have kidney failure must have their kidney checked regularly. Severe kidney damage can be prevented if diagnosed early in the disease.

You will be surprised to know that, in most of the cases of kidney failure, some of the wrong habits associated with the lifestyle of a person are responsible for this, such as-

1. Lack of sleep - 7 to 8 hours of full daily sleep is very important for good health. Due to lack of sleep, you can fall victim to blood pressure and heart related diseases. Lack of sleep also affects your kidneys.

2. Excessive eating - Most people stuff food rather than eating it wisely. If you do not want to spoil the kidney quickly, then you should avoid overeating.

3. Drinking less water - One should drink plenty of water throughout the day because water removes the harmful toxins of our body. 8 to 10 glasses of water should be drunk throughout the day. By consuming less water, the toxins stored in the body have a bad effect on the kidneys.

4. Eating more non-vegetarian food - Most people prefer to eat non-vegetarian food, but consuming large amounts of non-vegetarian food has metabolic effects on the kidney, which can cause kidney stone problems.

5. Taking more antibiotics - In every minor pain, eating medicine affects both health and kidney. Excessive consumption of medicines is harmful to the kidneys. If you want to keep your kidney fit for a lifetime, then medicines should always be taken as a doctor's prescription.

6. Alcohol and smoking addiction - Most people are addicted to alcohol and smoking, and this habit can prove to be threatening for the kidneys. Smoking and alcohol addiction can make your kidney prematurely ill.

7. Prolonged urination - If you hold your urine longer, it can cause your bladder to swell. Stopping for too long causes urine infection and bacteria is affected by the bacteria present in the urine.

8. Excess of salt intake - The body needs salt or sodium to function properly, but some people eat more salt, which increases blood pressure and has a direct effect on our kidneys. Daily we should not take more than 5 grams of salt in our diet.
